Deborah Wyle is the founder/ director of Children’s Center Preschool . Her background includes 14 years as the Director/Head Teacher at St. Thomas Preschool and 5 years as the Founder and Head of School of The Oaks School of Hollywood, a progressive elementary school. After leaving The Oaks, she trained with Sasha Borenstein of The Kelter Center to understand children’s learning differences and learning disabilities, and worked as a learning specialist and educational therapist both in schools and with private clients. She has served on the board of trustees of a Los Angeles private school, consulted to preschools and served as an advocate and mentor in the Los Angeles Children’s Court. Children’s Center Preschool is her opportunity to create a school that reflects her philosophy, beliefs, training, and experience to provide an exceptional experience for children and their families.
Ty Armstrong joined the preschool as the Head Teacher in the Yellow Room in Spring 2010. She received her Early Childhood Education degree at Los Angeles City College and is completing her BA in child Development at Cal State University Los Angeles. She has teaching experience at both the UCLA Child Care Center and the USC School of Early Childhood Education. She also worked with children at the Page and Natural History Museums. Ty’s special interest is curriculum planning and developing a curriculum book that is compatible with developmentally appropriate programs.
Aracely Jimenez is our Green Room Head Teacher. She received her Associates of Arts in Child Development degree from Los Angeles City College in 2001. She brings ten years of teaching experience to the Green Room and is perfectly suited to create an exciting new classroom. Aracely is part of a teaching family and has inspired both of her daughters to become teachers.
Maya Haywood came to the Yellow Room in Summer 2010 as a teacher with a background in preschool, elementary,
and special needs education. She graduated from San Francisco State University receiving a California Professional Clear Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. She also holds a California Credential in Special Education. She has teaching experience in preschool and at The Pacifica Charter School, with particular interests in language development and art.
Marilyn McKoy is a Yellow room teacher. Marilyn’s educational background is from two excellent child development colleges- LA City College and Santa Monica City College. She has also pursued an education in dance at USC and Santa Monica and a received her certification in physical education and dance at The American Association of Fitness. She has been a teacher with preschoolers for over 7 years. When she is not teaching at the school, she leads yoga and fitness classes at several sites.

Allison Pearlman is our permanent substitute; she knows the children and families of both the Yellow and Green Room. Her B.S. in Elementary Education with a specialization in Early Childhood Education (0-8 years old) is from Western Michigan University. She also minored in Integrated Creative Arts. She has 3 years of lead teacher experience in preschool.Tweet
