Pictures from school

I am so glad that everyone enjoyed the pictures of the fire fighters’ visit; it was a great morning. Check the wall of the preschool as you come in the door to see a more complete set of pictures. The children have been actively playing firefighters ever since.

It has come to my attention however, that I may not have sufficiently clarified the use of the pictures that come from the school. The pictures are for the use of the school families and may be sent to relatives to show them what is happening at the school. However, you may remember that each of you signed a consent form that stated how the pictures may be used. A few parents asked that their children’s pictures be used only in internal family communication and not be used on Facebook or the website. Therefore, please do not post school pictures on Facebook or other social networking sites. If you have, please just remove them so we collectively can respect the needs of our group. Thank you for your care in this matter.

Ty, our teacher

We are delighted to have Ty with us as a teacher and she will now be teaching Tuesday though Friday mornings with Tuesday and Thursday until 3 pm. After the spring break, she will remain until 5 pm on those days.

Parent conferences

Parent conferences are next week and I look forward to meeting with each of you. I hope that both parents are able to be there. We will be talking about the many aspects of your child’s development and experiences at school- social, emotional, cognitive, gross and fine motor, creative, and learning style. Please leave about an hour and a half.

Upcoming event- It is Easy Being Green

March 17th- A morning parent event with the children at school . 8:30 to 9:30 am in the classroom. there will be art projects with both the color green and “green” recycled materials, a green snack and a group telling of Green Eggs and Ham. Please join us!

Spring Break – March 29 to April 5th

Spring Break begins on Monday, March 29th; the children return to school on Monday, April 5th.

Book sharing

Many of you have a favorite book that you read with your child. One of our families shared The Giant Hug with us during our post office study and we loved it. We invite you and your child to bring a favorite book to school and we will read it at Group time. The group ranges from 3-5 year olds so please keep that in mind when you select the book. . We ask that you loan us a book that can remain for a few days, as they can’t all be read at once. Please discuss that  with your child. Any Easter and Passover books for the week of March 22nd would be appreciated. We look forward to being introduced to new and wonderful books.
