The fruit is still fabulous and we are using the cherry pitter to get cherries both for snack and for cooking.

Whole Grains are such an important source of nutrients and fiber for children. At school, we are finding more and more ways that kids love to include them in our menu. Whole wheat flatbread, bagels, thin sandwich rolls, tortillas, crackers, and oatmeal are delicious and lend themselves to a variety of toppings. This week they are paired with hummus, cheeses, and fruit toppings.

Monday Morning

Plums, Wheat thins, cheddar cheese, apple juice

Monday Afternoon

Nectarines, yogurt, Cheerios, grape juice

Tuesday Morning

Blueberries, flat bread roll up with hummus, apple/ wh. grape/ passion fruit juice

Tuesday Afternoon

Cherry tomatoes, whole wheat crackers, string cheese, mango juice

Wednesday Morning

Cherries, juice/ berry fruit popsicles, whole wheat cream cheese sandwiches, apple juice

Wednesday Afternoon

Blueberries, Oatmeal with milk, apple juice

Thursday Morning

Mangoes, bean and cheese burritos, apple juice

Thursday Afternoon

Nectarines, yogurt, Wheat thins , orange  juice

Friday Morning

Yogurt fruit Smoothies, Oat and Honey bars, grape juice
